The bicycles of Copenhagen..........by K J S Chatrath

 

 

Copenhagen is a city of bicycles. People use them extensively and with pride. Civic facilities, like separate lanes for cyclists also help. Strict discipline shown by the cyclists too is impressive.Where as the population of Copenhagen is 667000, the number of bicycles is 736600. 
 
 But let us compare the comparables- not apples with oranges.....The highest average temperature in Copenhagen is 20 C.....where as in India summer means between 40 to 45 degrees C. By the way, Denmark does import bicycles and bicycle parts from India.

                                           Bhandarkar Oriental Research Institute Pune.  I am a self professed atheist and am not the religious or spiritual type. However last week when I came across  a free Youtube presentation on Upanishads in simple language from experts of Bhandarkar Oriental Research Institute Pune, I was instinctively drawn towards these lectures. I have started watching those- for the sake of knowledge and not for seeking deliverance from the cycle of life and death. No, I am clear that I do not want Moksha.
