World Bank & all that rummy- by Kjs Chatrath

Bank Report (2024) proposes a Healthy Longevity Initiative (HLI). It entails
sharply reducing avoidable death and serious disability throughout the
life-cycle, as well as increased levels of physical, mental and social
functioning through middle and older ages, and short period of time before
inevitable death (World Bank 2024)
How wooly and verbose is all this! Trust World Bank to come out with new and fancy sounding ideas. After all a platoon of its Consultants (largely from the Western World, I presume) have to be kept busy and paid……So HLI would be the new mantra which would be discussed in meetings after meetings.
If you find this of interest, then please read “Debating ‘healthy longevity initiative’’ critically discussed by Raghav Giha. Vidhya Unnikrishnan and Vani S. Kulkarnai in the Hindu edition dated 13th November.
