Frida Kahlo- a respectful salute ...by K J S Chatrath
Frida Kahlo (1907–1954) was a Mexican artist known for her vibrant, emotive self-portraits and surreal, symbolic style.
Her works often explored themes of identity, post-colonialism, gender, class, and race in Mexican society.
Kahlo's art was deeply personal and drew from her own experiences, including the physical and emotional pain resulting from a severe bus accident in her youth and her tumultuous relationship with fellow artist Diego Rivera.
Her use of bold colors, folk art influences, and unflinching honesty made her a key figure in modern art. Kahlo’s legacy endures as a symbol of resilience and self-expression.
Presented here are a few photos taken from the internet as a homage to her.
