'Genoa's Monumental Cemetery' - by KJS Chatrath

The Cimitero monumentale di Staglieno is an extensive monumental cemetery located on a hillside in the district of Staglieno of Genoa, Italy, famous for its monumental sculpture. Covering an area of more than a square kilometre, it is one of the largest cemeteries in Europe. It was started around 1851.

Genoa's Monumental Cemetery is almost an open air art gallery in the memory of the loved ones who are no longer there. I visited it in 2018 and took some photographs. Here are some depicting loss, sorrow & faith through the eyes of the contemporary Italian artists.
