There is a news item in today's newspapers that a chain of Gurudwaras in Gurugram have offered Muslims to do their Namaz in side the Gurudwara premises/ halls.
This reminds me of an incident, which one of my lady friends, a Hindu, told me a few weeks back. She mentioned that when she was a kid, the family would sometimes travel by train in UP - mother and kids. The mother would always peep into various compartments before choosing one to board.
The kids, curious as they are by nature, asked the mother what she was looking for. She told them that she was looking to see if there was a Sikh travelling by the same train and would prefer to travel in that bogie. If there is a Sikh travelling in the same bogie then no harm would come to us and in case of any problem, he would help us, explained the mother.
India is a proudly secular country where adherents of all faiths live in perfect harmony. Let us keep it that way.
Secular societies must remain alert against rise of any form of extremism
