'Vintage ads & posters, No. 100 - Childhood photo of my father late Gurbux Singh Chatrath- by K J S Chatrath

                                                                  Photo taken circa 1916

He amongst his brothers was the brightest in studies. Got admission in the prestigious Government College, Lahore. He did very well in studies and was also the Captain of the Govt. College Lahore's Gymnastics Team. My grand father was so pleased with his results that he bought him a new 'The Indian Chief' motor cycle, import of which to India had just started. He then completed his LL.B from Law College, Lahore. Later in life, he was awarded with a 'sanad' of "Sardar Sahib" (the same as "Rai Sahib" for Hindus and "Khan Sahib" for Muslims) by Government in 1946

The most important things that I learnt from him were complete honesty and equal application of laws and rules to all without fear or favour.
