‘An imaginary dialogue by British officers seeing off Indian Forces leaving for France in 1914 during WW-I’ – by K J S Chatrath

I have tried to build up an imaginary dialogue of British officers seeing off Indian soldiers being sent to France in 1914 during WW-I

“Good Bye Indian soldiers. We know it is not your War. But go to France and fight and die for us – to save the British Colonial Empire.

We will pay you a handsome salary of Rs.11/- per month for your fighting and dying on our behalf.

Yes, we assure that we will forget you and your sacrifice after your death.”
