'Vintage ads & posters, No. 58, Ingmar Bergman's film Persona'- by K J S Chatrath

During my university days and thereafter, I used to like films by the famous Swedish Director Ingmar Bergman. His partner and muse used to be the well known Norwegian actress Liv Ullman. 

One of their pathbreaking and very famous film was 'Persona' which was released in 1966. It was a Swedish psychological drama film, written and directed by Ingmar Bergman and starring Bibi Andersson and Liv Ullmann. The story revolved around a young nurse named Alma (Andersson) and her patient, well-known stage actress Elisabet Vogler (Ullmann), who has suddenly stopped speaking.

Some of the posters of this film have become classics, in their own rights. Take a look:
